Fashion Forward – Dubai

This is the second season, held on October 15th – 18th, 2013, at the Madinat Conference Center in Madinat Jumeirah.

FFWD aim to be the definitive fashion platform in the Middle East, creating a fashion movement that highlights strenghs, inspires and nurtures industry growth and wealth of talent, and ultimately drives forward the entire fashion industry in the region.

This main highlights of FFWD include:

• SOCIAL EVENTS: a dynamic calendar of social activities, brunches, Hight Teas, “Glam Hours” and afterparties. 

I can't compare the Italian fashion shows because for me It's the best in the world, but I can say It

was a nice event, organized in detail and with designers very interesting. 

I think the best was Essa, indian origin but Arab sensibilities. From the first ever comprehensive

integration of the ghutra in futuristic seams, desert paradise neon kaftans in iridescent bedu regalia, to volumetric neoprene and the infinite saturation of hues engulfed in layers of trasparent chiffon, Essa's designs consistently try to weave together the traditional and the modern by relying on materials and prints that have iconic cuts and are universally flattering.

I come home very tired but happy to have seen a reality different from mine. 

I am a very curious girl and I always interested in discovering new cultures, especially about fashion.

MAN'S CHANGE STYLE

Hi there,

It's a long time that I don't write something in my blog but this period was very particular for me. 

This is the first time that I change a look to one man, but I want to try. 

This man wants to transform their outward appearance, he knows he wants to enhance her personal style, but he is unsure about how the process will work and if the transition will be successful. 

"Dressing for professional success has nothing to do with casual clothing. You may have heard about business-casual but that doesn't mean you can borrow casual clothes and accessories into your work attire. Far from it".

YOU ARE ACTUALLY SELLING YOURSELF. AND YOUR CLOTHES ARE THE PACKAGING.

In this case, D. is aggressive with his damask shirt (horrible!), his black shoes and his gold watch from the mafia (Italy :-P), but I want to transform him in elegant and attractive.

Usually men are resistant to change and I want to start gradually by the invitation to a wedding that requires a proper look.

It was very difficult for me, but He's very elegant here!

He is an intense winter so I focused on a color that accentuates his aesthetic traits, so I played a lot with the blue and white, in fact if you are smart, you'll want to consider your skin tone when getting them.

Shoes tell A LOT about a man so you have to make sure they look perfect. The best business shoes are the OXFORD, but in this case I couldn't devote much time and I wanted to create something elegant but not too much.

A watch is probably the best accessory you can wear during an important event or meeting and I decided to change the golden clock with one simple.

D. is very smiling in this picture and that makes me happy because it means that I did a good job!

He can start from here! The hard work is in getting the started - once you know what size fit you or a tailor has your body measurements, you can simply order everything you need and know for certain you'll have the fit down.

Finally I want to give some advice for men in general:

• You just need 2 or 3 high quality ones;
• Start off with a black or a navy blue suit;
• The second one can ben either dark brown or dark gray;
• From your third one onward, you can think of more interesting colors green, khaki and even patterns such as pinstripe;
• A white shirt is the absolute first thing you need to buy;
• You should have one pair black and one pair brown of shoes;
• Get a few ties that work well with your suits and shirt;
• Don’t wear clothes that are too large;
• Take care of your personal hygiene;
• Smile (as D. in the last picture);
• Don’t dress generic;
• Wear some color – a professional outfit shouldn’t distract the eye too much but this doesn’t mean you can’t introduce small amounts of color in the right places;
• Keep your clothes wrinkle free.

It isn't easy to have the charm, elegance and an air of mystery that characterizes Jonny Depp, but all of you can try!

Cambio look per una proposta di matrimonio inaspettata

Buongiorno a tutti,

è da un po' che non scrivo sul mio blog, un po' per le vacanze appena trascorse e un po' perché il mio non è solo un blog di stile, ma soprattutto di eventi di stile.

Qualche giorno fa sono stata contattata da un ragazzo, Oliver, che è venuto nella bellissima Valle d'Itria (Puglia) per vacanza e per fare una proposta di matrimonio alla sua dolcissima fidanzata, Charlie.

E' stata una proposta molto particolare e soprattutto inaspettata da parte della ragazza che ha solo 22 anni, ma fidanzata con lui da circa 3.

Il mio lavoro è iniziato il giorno prima con la scelta del look per Charlie. 

Come si nota da questa prima foto, questa ragazza ha un fisico molto particolare, sicuramente diverso dal nostro, ragazze del sud, che siamo più propense a un fisico "a pera". Lei, invece, ha il fisico nordico con collo corto, spalle larghe, seno piccolo, vita leggermente più stretta, fianchi larghi e cosce generose. Direi che l'impresa è molto ardua, perché non si può considerare una CLESSIDRA per via del seno piccolo e neanche una figura RETTANGOLO per la vita leggermente più sottile. Il mio obiettivo è quello di valorizzare i suoi punti forti, quindi la vita sottile rispetto al resto del corpo che invece tenderò a nascondere.

Dopo diverse prove il risultato che sono riuscita a raggiungere è stato questo: 

• ho scelto un vestito con scollo a V sia per minimizzare il collo corto della ragazza, che anche per il piccolo seno, che, grazie ad un push-up ad hoc sono riuscita a rendere più prorompente;
• spalline larghe per minimizzare le sue spalle forti;
• ho valorizzato il punto vita sottile rispetto al resto con questo fiocchetto laterale;
• infine, la larghezza del vestito sotto ridimensiona i suoi fianchi floridi.

Per quanto riguarda il trucco e il parrucco ho voluto ricreare uno stile sbarazzino, visto anche la tenera età della ragazza. Per un viso rotondo come il suo è da evitare il volume nei capelli e la riga al centro, invece, la cosa migliore è la lunghezza media con capelli molto sfilati ai lati del viso, poi per il trucco ho voluto puntare sul suo colore degli occhi, quindi azzurro sugli occhi e solo un po' di lucido sulle sue labbra sottili e graziose.

Dopo aver deciso il look per Charlie, che ancora non sa niente di quello che le sta succedendo, viene a prenderci il mio autista Mimmo con la sua vecchia 500, macchina che lei adora, per portarci nel luogo in cui lui le farà la proposta di matrimonio. 

Questo è il bigliettino che lui mi ha fatto consegnare alla girl, che per tutta la durata del viaggio in macchina non riusciva a smettere di ridere per l'emozione. 

E bene si! Arrivati alla location scelta, Polignano a Mare (BA), un posto romantico e incantevole. Purtroppo pioveva tantissimo e abbiamo dovuto ricreare l'evento all'interno di un locale, ma con prospettiva verso l'esterno. Lui come tutti gli uomini dovrebbero fare si è chinato per farle la proposta di matrimonio e lei, emozionata, ha accettato senza esitazioni.

Anche l'anello è stato scelto da me. Avevo un budget medio e quindi mi sono attenuta alla scelta di un diamante centrale abbastanza grande con piccoli diamantini sui lati e anche su parte del gambo. 

Quando ci siamo resi conto che la pioggia si è interrotta per poco, siamo andati all'esterno del locale, dove la coppia di innamorati ha lanciato le loro lanterne a forma di cuore, dette anche "Love Lantern", per auspicare alla propria storia d'amore un esito positivo e felice.

La lacrimuccia è caduta anche a me dopo questo evento, che ti fa comprendere quanto l'amore riesca a raggiungere tutto con la giusta volontà. Non c'è distanza o difficoltà che non possa essere risolta semplicemente con l'amore.

EVENTO "Cosa mi metto?" 22 giugno 2013 a Milano Marittima

Finalmente il primo evento di lookmaking su strada aperto a tutti!!!

Ehi si, pronte per l'evento, si parte con la magliettina "Staff"...

Appena arrivate in centro, io con le mie AMICHE CONSULENTI ci prepariamo per la nostra serata all'insegna del lavoro di "Consulenti d'Immagine" e "Personal Shopper" per alcuni negozi che hanno aderito alla nostra simpatica iniziativa...

Ecco una foto con le mie fantastiche AMICHE CONSULENTI Pina e Michela...

Tutta la serata ho cercato di aiutare le clienti che mi chiedevano consigli riguardo allo stile giusto da adottare alle diverse situazioni in base alla propria forma fisica, i colori, il taglio giusto di capelli per i propri lineamenti del viso, ecc...

Con questa cliente mi sono divertita molto perché, nonostante avesse un bel fisico e fosse molto alta, non riusciva ad accettarsi e a volersi bene, trascurandosi...
Spero di averle dato la carica giusta e che adesso si valorizzi perché ha le potenzialità per farlo!

Qui tutto lo staff all'opera: make up artist, hair stylist e consulenti d'immagine...

Devo dire che è stato un bel lavoro...

Eccomi qui mentre mostro la PALETTE COLORI alla mia cliente. 

L'ARMOCROMIA: attraverso l'osservazione del colore degli occhi, dei capelli e della pelle, analizzo quali sono i colori che più valorizzano il viso della cliente in questione, mettendo in evidenza la luce degli occhi.... 

Ed eccomi a fine serata, un pò stanca si, ma contenta per il lavoro svolto che spero sia stato di aiuto alle mie clienti...
